We stopped in yesterday for the first time for lunch. I had driven by many times and wondered what is “Detroit style” pizza? I won’t go into the definition here because the owner (or even google AI) would do it more justice than I could. I will just say that it’s soooo delicious and very filling. We ordered their meat lovers pizza, and there or so many other traditional and very interesting sounding options! We were greeted by the owner (I’m assuming) when we walked in. He was so friendly and welcoming, answered all of our questions, explained how the ordering works and invited us to choose a table either out on the patio or inside. We chose a patio table, enjoyed some beautiful warm sunshine while it was out, raised the table’s umbrella when it started raining, and then had to scramble inside when it started raining harder! The man who greeted us even came running outside to help us carry everything in. Overall, a great experience and we would definitely order pizza here again! Highly recommend!

Some of the best pizza I have ever had, and I’ve had a lot of pizza and am quite opinionated about it. Important: This is Detroit style pizza. One quick google would show you that. The owner taking our order even mentioned that when we placed our order. Some people dislike or quite simply absolutely despise Detroit style pizza. Here’s a tip: If you don’t like Detroit style pizza, don’t eat at a Detroit pizza shop and then complain about it. Go to one of the 100 Greek style House of Pizza places instead. And that’s part of what I love about this place is there’s so few places that make unique pizza like this. When I saw the pictures I just hoped the taste of the pizza would match and it absolutely does. The dough is thick and chewy, the cheese is high quality and has an excellent tang to it. The toppings I have tried (pepperoni, and the Hawaii with cappicola) were excellent. Especially the pepperoni which had that nice crisp cupping. The edges of the pizza is not “burnt” you heathens, it’s called frico and it’s one of the best parts of this type of pizza. Beyond the pizza, my daughter got the chicken tenders and fries and they were so much better than they had any right to be.

Delicious pizza! Don't go expecting your run-of-the-mill pizza. This is detroit pizza which is cheesy, bready, crispy and the sauce is poured on top. I love that locals opened this business and are bringing detroit pizza to York! I don't know where else to get it either! It's so good, I will drive all the way from Rochester to get pizza. Worth it every time.

I wish I could give Dante’s more than five stars! We recently went for a birthday lunch, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. They were incredibly accommodating, even with our large group and the fact we kept adding more because everything was so delicious. We sat outside on the fenced-in patio, which made the atmosphere fun and very family-friendly for the kids. The staff was outstanding: attentive, welcoming, and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was fantastic, especially the specialty pizzas and the most crispy fries. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Dante’s to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

I've lived in Maine for over 20 yrs. This is a place I would drive the 45 minutes for and pay the price be ause wow. The staff are fantastic. The pizza is probably one of the best I've ever had! Onion rings are fire too!!
